the news isnt what's in the river the news is why aren't we saving this water? It happens every year in winter and we're talking trillions of gallons of water that can be saved and cleaned for use, yet for the entire time of my life its just wasted out to sea. I've sent them the ideas on how to collect this water every year an still no action. Free water from storms is the solution to the Southlands drought. One more time for the people in the cheap seats, we stop the flow at the mouths of Long Beach and Santa Ana River bed out lets to the ocean. Yes it will require major construction but Trillions of gallons of water can be saved each winter. Once the flow is stopped it can be pumped out to reservoirs and either pumped back up to a larger reservoir or to water reclamation stations to treat and store for use. The corp media news is less than useless, if they want to help then do so by telling us how many gallons per second or minute are passing by and at what speed and how deep and get more cameras on the entire length of the river. Add cameras on bridges, w lights for night reporting at times when the river is almost to the top, show the volume of the river bed and calculate the amount of water passing each hour, Raise the awareness to all and maybe we'll start saving this precious Free water all of us need. There's no better rain collecting system than these massive river beds. Now we need to upgrade them to hold and treat this volume of water each year. Start the petition to ballot this for funds to reconstruct the river beds globally to save all the water possible for any future rains storms or climate phenom's. Start now to build and reengineer the beds to slow the water down and pump out the water before it spills over the sides. Save and treat the water while also collecting all the debris from entering the oceans. Win Win Win situation. We can remove anything in water with the proper treatment. Even if it cant be for drinking water it can surely be used as gray water. Every drop of this passing by at 30 mph can be captured and cleaned. Dont let another season go by wasting trillions of gallons of useable water. Jobs for the homeless of cleanup after the water is drained off. And not only when its raining but in the times of the rest of the year when the water is just in the middle of the riverbed daily loss of water is in the millions of gallons daily?////HELLO

  2. When it’s not raining, the river is basically a street. There is concrete underneath most of the L.A. River.
